Welcome to my website!
Hello, I am Lydia Brown an advocate for Alcohol and Addiction Treatment! I believe that not any one treatment is for all people so yes you will find that I write about 12 Step Programs, Medicated Assisted Treatment and other methods that are helping people reconnect with his/her family and society.
My experience in this area has been 20 years working in an array of treatment modalities that include but not limited to residential and outpatient.
My credentials are a Masters degree in Psychology, Nationally and Internationally certified as an alcohol and addiction counselor, as well as certified as a Masters Addiction Counselor.
Started out as a substance abuse counselor and retired as a program director of an opiate treatment clinic. Two of my favorite duties working in this field has been providing clinical supervision to those counselors who desired to develop his/her skills to become certified and facilitating individual and group sessions.
It has also been a privilege to be a CARF surveyor having surveyed many opiate treatment programs for compliance to remain or obtain accreditation.
My goal with this blog is to provide resources and information for the addict and alcoholic, the families affected by this disease and to those working in the field.
To Our Success!
